Bang On Target

BIG WILLIE AMONGST VAULT 17.0 CHAMPS

That’s a wrap for the latest ADC Vault edition and, across the UK and Ireland, some familiar names topping their respective regions charts.

Many darts fans who keep close tabs on the amateur scene will recognise plenty of them. Perhaps you’re still not speaking to one or two after they relieved you of your entry fee in one of these events last week!

If you fancy joining up but are not quite sure how to go about it – simples. Bang on Target has you covered. Head over to www.dartscircuit.com, register for twenty quid in human monies, and that’s pretty much it.

Then, if you’re wondering where your nearest venue or event is, don’t panic. There are literally hundreds of Vault tournaments taking place every week – and now, designated Women’s onces too which is a relatively fresh concept and going great guns. Hop on a bus wherever you live, and you’ll probably pass several venues staging Vault events. Alternatively – and for a much more logical and considerably less time-wasting approach – simply refer to the website above.

Back to the Vault 17.0 winners. Congratulations to all. Now let’s have a closer look at a few and of course, have a bit of fun.

Football seems to have developed a fondness for double-barrelled surnames lately, presumably to keep both parents happy. So Ben Flanagan-McClelland will probably be hoping official darts shirts are not charged by the letter. If you’re of particularly slender build, lad, it might be best just to go with “Ben”.

It’s not a party until Willie Borland arrives. He may have teeth that look as though he has spent a week sparring with Oleksandr Usyk and a hairstyle so unimaginative that even Medieval Britons might suggest trying something different, but boy, can the man celebrate a nine-darter on the Ally Pally stage. He was halfway up the M1 dancing away before realising he had to return to the stage and complete the whole handshake ritual.

And well done to James Hubbard. Good to see him back in the ring, so to speak. “Old Mother” is a former PDC World Youth Champion, having beaten none other than Michael van Gerwen. Whatever happened to that Dutch bloke, eh?

When James is busy doing, for want of a better phrase, “all things Hubbardy”, you’ll often find the Norwich City supporter exchanging banter on X with Keith Dellar, who follows rivals Ipswich Town. Which is the equivalent of two grown men arguing over which house fly is the most attractive.

Everyone listed below has secured a MODUS Super Series invitation, with the opportunity to pocket £30,000 should they go all the way and claim Champions Week.

And, with Pluto TV showing all the live action down in Portsmouth’s Live Lounge, they can get their mates to tune in and watch. If they don’t bother, well, they’ll soon discover who their real friends are and can promptly cut their Facebook list in half.
